The Martin DC-Aura Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a special dreadnought model fitted with deluxe electronics for stunning acoustic-electric tone no matter the circumstances. A special edition of the Fishman Aura Acoustic Imaging Blender provides onboard access to studio-quality sounds live. The Aura does not change your guitar tone, but accentuates it to project the true sound of the guitar as captured by high-end condenser microphones in a premium studio. 6 customized Sound Images, derived from actual studio recordings of the DC can be blended with the resonant output of the Martin Gold+Plus Natural pickup signal for previously unattainable hi-fidelity reproduction of the world-renowned Martin acoustic tone. Other electronic features include a fully programmable digital EQ, feedback control, and a chromatic tuner. The DC-Aura has a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with modified low oval shape, and special pearl hexagon outline inlays on the ebony fretboard and bridge. With details like herringbone inlays, 2-piece back construction, scalloped (hybrid) bracing, and solid spruce tops, these instruments sound as great as they look. The D16GT features solid mahogany back & sides with black binding and, a gloss Sitka spruce top & satin finish back & sides. The D16RGT features solid rosewood with white binding - even on the fingerboard, and a satin finish. Both models include a hardshell case. Martin 16 Series This well-established and innovative all solid wood 16 Series was originally conceived and developed as an experiment in delivering better sound without higher cost by using a combination of our proprietary bracing systems, called “Hybrid” X-bracing, on a solid wood instrument. Martin succeeded, and the guitar has become a longtime Martin favorite. Standard features for the 16 Series generally include solid wood top, back and sides, patented neck mortise, and “Hybrid” X-bracing.
